It is easy to take sides, people do it naturally. The list of sides is endless; left vs right, liberal vs. conservative, East vs West, Islam vs. Christianity, Middle East vs. Israel, Russia and China vs. U.S.A. There are grievances everywhere, everyone claims to be right, and they are the victimized ones, and the enemy deserves retribution and death. When we attempt to see more clearly, the glass fogs up and the mists of blindness threaten.
I say take no side, except the side of the Lord, and he is for none of these and more.
Syria is in the news, it has had at least 100,000 deaths since their civil war began in the beginning of 2011. We are now choosing to support the rebels, who are terrorists, who have butchered villages, have eaten the hearts of their enemies, and are believed to have used chemical weapons. We really want to be responsible for their actions? We will be now that we support them with aid.
The typical counter is to claim that I then want Assad, the president of Syria, to stay in power. Choosing neither is a valid choice, as is walking away entirely. Assad is a butcher too, and neither side is for God, nor for decency. The United States is setting up a Sunni Caliphate that is extending from North Africa up into Turkey, that is why we choose to topple the dictators and allow extremist Islamists to be elected to power through “democratic’ votes. This isn’t about which side is good, they are both evil, it is about end results. Who benefits? Pro bono? It isn’t you or I.
We are blind in carnal struggles, which are just the end result of spiritual struggles. Be neither a democrat or a republican, they both are for themselves, for power’s sake. Their loyalty ends at themselves, and you are a pawn for their games. Democrats set up wars, Republicans execute them, we can expect war when Obama is done mucking up America. A republican will take over to make war, and everyone will say oh the horror, and they will then elect a Democrat who will pain them in another corner with his or her weakness, fantasies, and debt racking. Carter preceded Reagan/ Bush, Clinton preceded Bush, and Obama ushers in death.
Those who advocate the haves and the have-nots have one thing in common; they have and are simply theater to keep you from lashing out violently. John Edwards was for the poor; and had a trailer park across from his mansion. His charity could have started there. He was just fulfilling a role. Most politics is theater, virtually everyone has a role to play. It is nonsense.
There is no anchor of reality in our world that comes from our world. Championing truth and justice is just a game to many, the goalpost moves, and definitions change, our new generation is indoctrinated and kept from seeing straight. You need a definite authority of right and wrong, you need a light, and only the Bible is capable of being that for you. It is the Word of God, and you can discern His will by it. Without it you will never know truly where all stands including yourself. The enemy is adept at changing hearts for the worst, without notice at first, but with rotten fruit surely at harvest. Do not allow your true loyalty to lay with any movement, government, or any power of this world. They will betray you in the end. It is not our duty to struggle for them, to take up the causes of the world. We should struggle for Jesus, in our inner lives, in our families, and in the world around us. That battle is always, subtle, but very real. Who backbites, who betrays, who steals, who is lazy? Check yourself first, and then seek to end these practices around you.
Ephesians 6: 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
P.S. Keep a hardcopy of a Bible, or three. You never know when ebooks may fail, or become corrupted.
